A new contest is now available on my website. This one is designed to help me celebrate my upcoming 80th birthday. Three winners will receive gift certificates to buy books. Take it from one who knows, middle age isn't at all a bad place to be, dear readers. Eighty is a worthy age to look forward to so long as you remain cheerful and healthy.
On another note, there is nothing I like more than to hear from you, dear readers. I promise to take all your comments seriously, yes, even the negative ones. Click here if you want to communicate with me and I will answer any questions or comments, along with your message and your name (optional) on my web site.
As for my current writing projects, I have three in the works. The first is a historical novel in the Regency period called THE HIGHWAYMAN'S LADY. It is about the daughter of a duke, who is a young, beautiful, reckless hoyden who falls in love with a masked highwayman. Heedless of the consequences, she is determined to join her masked attacker for the sake of the thrills, chills and excitement this affords her dull life.
My second work-in-progress is a contemporary romance called THE PENTHOUSE NEXT DOOR. My heroine returns to New York City to pick up the pieces of her life after a disastrous failed marriage. She mistakes the man in the penthouse next door for a burglar.
My third endeavor? That's a novella entitled A FAIRCHILD CHRISTMAS. It follows the Fairchild family at a reunion in London twenty years after TOO HOT FOR A RAKE. You will discover what happens to Georgiana, Mary, Jane and brother Edward. All the family members in fact, will entertain you with their human foibles, petty disputes, husbands, wives, children and . . .Stay tuned!
In between my self-designed writing tasks, I manage to attend conferences, give workshops to other writers, both professional and aspiring, and write articles for writers' journals. My mantra remains: Hurry up and write!
